One example of a scam I experienced was a phishing email pretending to be from my bank, claiming there was “suspicious activity” on my account and urging me to click a link to secure it. The purpose of the scam was to steal my login credentials and possibly gain access to my financial information. It worked by creating a sense of urgency and providing a fake link that mimicked my bank’s official website. To determine if it was fake, I could have checked the email address for discrepancies, hovered over the link to see its true destination, and directly contacted my bank to verify the claim instead of engaging with the email.
